Senigallia 10/16/2020 – A vestige of war was found on Friday morning during the renovation of the June 2 Bridge. For security reasons, the part of Via Carducci near the bridge has been closed to traffic, including pedestrians.

The bomb would be, according to the testimonies collected in the place, very big. The agents of the Municipal Police and the Police Station have not been able, for the moment, to verify if it is a remnant of the First or Second World War.

The bomb was found in excavations on the side of Via Carducci, very close to commercial and residential buildings. It seems difficult to think that you can make it shine on the spot.

At the moment, the area has not been evacuated and the shops on Via Carducci are open, even though the street is understandably deserted.

A decision is expected from the competent authorities on how to proceed.
