Another dead dog electrocuted. Still after a snowfall and probably putting his leg in a cast iron gutter. The last tragedy hit a large quadruped in Tavazzano with Villavesco (Lodi). The street, dominated by houses that were built for the workers of the local thermoelectric plant, was immediately closed while investigations are carried out to establish the exact cause of the accident. It is not ruled out that the sewer has been filled with much more conductive water due to the spread of salt, in the last hours, against the frost after the snowfall last Monday.
This is the sixth case in a short time. Also in the north where there have been heavy snowfalls. Yesterday Kaos, an eight-month-old Lagotto, who was walking in Milan, died: the animal, who was with the owner, suddenly collapsed to the ground and the trip to a veterinary clinic was worthless, where the doctors tried in vain to revive it. The young owner, a student, also fell ill from the impact and was admitted to hospital for examination.
In the previous days a dog died in Monte Olimpino, in the Como area, another in Bareggio and another two in Cesano Boscone. Snowfalls cause water, snow and ice to end up in the sewers and create conductive bridges with the electrical current that ends up leaving the cabin. One thing that shouldn’t happen, but as these cases show, it is not uncommon.
