(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 14 – The entrance door of the Higher Institute of Health in Rome is set on fire. At night it was known to have been doused with flammable liquid and set on fire. Those responsible fled. The door was damaged by flames and smoke filled the high school classroom. The caretakers intervened and raised the alarm. Some employees had recently left the Institute.
The images of the cameras from the streets surrounding the Higher Institute of Health that may have led those who set fire to the entrance door are examined by the police, who are involved in the investigations. At the moment the researchers are not ruling out clues, from the gesture of a madman to an act of demonstration. A police patrol extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher supplied to the service vehicle. Investigative Unit investigations are still ongoing and will report to the Prosecutor’s Office. The damage would not be enormous. The president of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità Silvio Brusaferro, together with the director Andrea Piccioli, in an internal communication to employees about the fire at the door of the building in Viale Regina Elena recommends raising the level of care. “In addition to the surveillance and alert systems that already exist – read the communication – we recommend the utmost attention and vigilance to all.” (HANDLE).
