“I just spoke with Minister Speranza, I can confirm that Tuscany will continue in the orange zone next week.” This was announced by the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani on his Facebook page. For Tuscany it is the third week in the orange zone, which will officially start from Monday, March 1 and no longer from Sunday, as has happened so far. Bars and restaurants will still have to remain closed, with the only possibility of takeout and home delivery. It is still prohibited to leave your city of residence with some exceptions.

The governor of the region also announced that he had signed, in agreement with the mayors, the ordinances to stop the increase in infections in the provinces of Pistoia and Siena and in the municipality of Cecina, which will enter the red zone as of tomorrow.

The red zones of Pistoia and Siena for nine days starting tomorrow Saturday, February 27. The president of the Region Eugenio Giani has signed the two ordinances with which restrictive measures are established in all the municipalities of the two provinces until Sunday, March 7, inclusive.

The provision was made necessary in the name of the “precautionary principle” recommended by the technical-scientific indications contained in the national regulations. Therefore, it was decided to adopt measures to limit the movement of people and suspend some activities to prevent further spread of the infection in areas where there has been a sharp worsening of the epidemiological picture.

Therefore, the restrictive measures to contain contagion planned at the national level for areas characterized by a scenario of maximum severity and a high level of risk were also established for these two provinces, in accordance with the provisions of the Dpcm of April 14. January. , 2021 (article 3). These are the same measures already in force in the municipalities of Chiusi and Cecina and which, as indicated in the text of the ordinances, may be repeated based on the evolution of the epidemiological context.

Among other restrictions, any movement in and out of the municipal area, as well as within it, is prohibited, except movements motivated by proven work needs or situations of need or for health reasons.

Return home, home or residence is allowed. It is allowed to move to a single inhabited private house, within the municipal term, once a day. Retail commercial activities are suspended, except for the sale of food and basic necessities. The markets are closed, regardless of the type of activity that takes place, except those for the sale of food, agricultural products and floriculture only. Newsstands, tobacconists, pharmacies and parapharmacies remain open.
