Cagliari Calcio announces that it has entrusted the technical leadership of the first team to Leonardo Semplici, who has signed a contract with the Club until June 30, 2022. Along with the coach, Andrea Consumi comes to Rossoblu as assistant coach, the physical trainer Yuri Fabbrizzi, technical collaborators Rossano Casoni and Alessio Rubicini.
Born in Florence on July 18, 1967, Leonardo Semplici began his coaching career in 2004 on the bench in Sangimignano, which immediately led to promotion to D. The following year he moved to Figline Valdarno, with whom he was the architect of an authentic business sport: in the span of four seasons he wins three championships and leads the team from Excellence to the Pro League, also winning the Second Division Super League Cup.
After his experiences with Arezzo and Pisa in the Lega Pro, he stays in Tuscany to coach Primavera de la Fiorentina, a position he will hold for three seasons: reaching the semi-finals of the 2013-14 championship, launching many talented youngsters and their teams play well.
Results that return him to the leadership of a first team: he arrived in Spal in December 2014 and a new cycle of historical success began. In the 2015-16 season he won the championship and the Lega Pro Super Cup; the following year he won the championship of B and thus led Spal to A, where he had been absent for 49 years.
