The processed swabs increase, but the new ones infected with Coronavirus in Sicily emerge from the tests even more. Of 7,597 swabs, 1,391 new positives are registered with a contagion index (the test-new cases ratio) that rises to 18.2, a level never reached until today (yesterday there were 1,047 cases with 6,319 swabs and an index of 16.5). Sicily ranks third in Italy after Veneto and Emilia Romagna for the number of new positives.
There is also a peak of deaths in the last 24 hours reaching 34 (yesterday were 26) and hospitalizations are also increasing. In total, there are 1,367 patients in the hospital, 46 more than yesterday. Of these 186 are in intensive care (yesterday there were 184) where 13 new patients were hospitalized in one day. The cured are 370, so that the positives are currently 36,578, with an increase of 987 people.
The new infected divided by provinces see Catania in the lead with 396 new positives. Then Palermo 295, Messina 240, Syracuse 197, Trapani 76, Ragusa 69, Caltanissetta 56, Enna 48 and Agrigento 44.
