White zone after January 15: what is it
On the call white or green area the regions or areas with the best indicators, including lower Rt index and intensive care capacity. Here, places of culture, covered sports centers may reopen, there will no longer be a curfew from 10 pm to 5 pm, and restaurants and bars may reopen without a time limit, but always with the obligation to respect and enforce the anti-contagion regulations (use mandatory mask, interpersonal distancing and ban on meeting).
The white zone would be the prelude to a gradual return to normality, much more than the coveted yellow zone that still has limits. Criteria to be defined and the value of the index Rt for which the white zone is activated. According to rumors, the government has in mind to modify the indicators with which it decides to enter the regions in one or another risk band.
According to reports Republic, to access the green zone a region must not have more than 50 cases of Covid per 100,000 inhabitants. Therefore, the incidence of the virus would be crucial, but it may not be enough: let’s think about the Calabria, which currently has the lowest incidence in Italy (131 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants) but, due to the situation of its health system, runs the risk of remaining in the red zone.
