Italy orange zone on the weekend of January 9 and 10. This is the hypothesis that is glimpsed in the day characterized by the meetings for the definition of the rules that will be adopted from January 7 to counteract the spread of the coronavirus. The meeting of the Scientific Technical Committee is scheduled for the afternoon, after the meeting held today by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte with the Minister of Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, and the heads of delegation.

Based on what has been learned, the CTS will have to evaluate the hypothesis that emerged from the meeting to block movements between the Regions even between January 7 and 15 and to put all of Italy in the orange zone on the weekend of January 9 and 10.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte would have reiterated, during today’s videoconference with the heads of delegation, his orientation in favor of the resumption of the school in the presence of 50% as of next Thursday, January 7, as he has stressed on several occasions.

The comparison takes place after the last few days that have shown an increase in the positivity rate. Today, with 14,425 infections detected in 102,974 swabs, the positivity rate is around 13.8%.

After the holidays, according to a scheme used in recent months, one returns to the ‘traditional’ subdivision of the regions into different bands: red zone, orange zone and yellow zone. However, the evaluation criteria could be modified to adopt more or less restrictive rules, perhaps paying more attention to the positivity index.
