Weekend in the red zone for everyone, Lombardy at risk of the orange zone from Monday to Friday from January 7. These are the hypotheses for next January and that will be launched by the government before the deadline of the “Christmas Decree” scheduled for after the Epiphany.
There are two hypotheses on the table at the moment, as Repubblica reports. New RT criteria that allow decreeing regional orange and red zones with even fewer emergency numbers. Second: a new national repression that could lead to the establishment of red zones on weekends throughout the Italian territory. This will mean having bars and restaurants, shops, shopping centers, in addition to prohibiting non-essential movements. For the other days, however, new restrictions on inter-municipal and inter-regional traffic are expected. Therefore, for Lombardy, the return to the yellow zone could be eliminated as before the holidays with fewer prohibitions and more freedom to travel in compliance with the curfew from 22 to 5.
One of the causes of this possible tightening comes from the Christmas shopping days between December 7 and 23 that gave rise to the Christmas Decree. “In any case, current projections seem to indicate that a new outbreak is looming and is destined to last at least one more week,” reads the Republic. The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, could soon sign a “bridge” ordinance that will run from Epiphany until mid-January, the period in which the Christmas Decree will expire. Or anticipate the new January Dpcm starting on January 7.
