Red zone today, orange tomorrow: what can be done. From the 7th new closing? Conte Summit

Today the red zone, tomorrow orange, then red again for two days and at the end we return to the different “colors” in each region of the Peninsula. This is the rate at which restriction program in Italy next week. This means that, as has happened several times during the Christmas season, in the space of a few hours what can and cannot be done changes radically. So let’s see what is possible today and in the coming days.

This morning a meeting was convened between Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the majority heads of delegation, as it was learned from government sources, to make a point in view of the deadline set for January 6 of the restrictive measures put in place to the holidays. The Minister for Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, also participates in the meeting.

Red zone on January 3.5 and 6

They are the 24 hours (holidays and pre-holidays) in which the limitations are stricter. They remain closed for example bars and restaurants (only to take out until 10pm or home delivery) or retail stores (except food stores, newsagents, tobacconists and pharmacies), and any prohibited movement – even within the municipality itself – unless it is possible to self-certify it for reasons of health, work or necessity. Although there are some exceptions: you can leave by doing motor activity (a walk, but with a mask and close to your house) or sports activity (a race for example, but always alone); is you can visit friends and family at home (maximum 2, unless you have minor children or non-self-sufficient people with you, and only once a day between 7 am and 10 pm). You can also give up the possibility of leaving your own municipality., but only for those who live in urbanized areas with less than 5,000 inhabitants. In fact, they are allowed to travel a distance “not exceeding 30 kilometers from the respective municipalities”, but traveling to the provincial capital is prohibited.

Orange zone in 4

On the last day of intermediate restrictions, there are freedom of movement (Within your municipality, you need self-certification to leave for valid reasons, unless you reside in a center with less than 5,000 inhabitants) but only from 5 to 22. However, the shops will be open, while the restaurants and bars will be closed. (except for take away and home orders). Like in the red zone you can go visit family and friends (with the same rules valid for January 3), or moving to second homes within your region. And, as always, you can return to your home or move for health, emergency or work reasons, even crossing the borders of your region.

What about 7

The Christmas decree provides valid measures until January 6. From 7 o’clock, Italy will return to the diversified system between the red, orange and yellow zones. The subdivision of the regions will come based on the data that in the coming days will be provided by the control room for regional monitoring and evaluated by the government, until the launch of the ordinances. Therefore, Italy could also look completely yellow from one day to the next. However, this will probably not be the case because, as highlighted in the latest ISS report, the Rt index rise, which now plays 0.93. Therefore, the risk, especially for Veneto, Liguria and Calabria – which, according to the latest ISS report, exceeded the value of Rt 1 – will once again be placed on the list of territories subject to greater restrictions.
