For a month, our region has been in the lead in the number of new cases, but it is still yellow. The government has two paths. Here are the graphs to form an opinion
VENICE. “Almost inevitable”, according to the technicians. The government is studying a new squeeze that will announce it in the next few hours. There are those who call it a “reinforced” yellow zone to be activated on January 7, when all Regions will return to the yellow zone, after the expiration of the last Dpcm with the national closure on holidays and days before January 6.
Due the streets. The first is to find new criteria to define the contagion index (Rt) that can create new orange and red areas even with less “heavy” numbers.
The other avenue is a new national blockade, with Italy turning red on the weekends.
For the other days, however, new restrictions on inter-municipal and inter-regional traffic are expected.
the projections formulated by scientists and handed over to the government seem to indicate that a new flame is upon us and is destined to last at least one more week: these are the effects of the “moment of madness” from 6 to 23 December.
Then, hopefully, the effect of the holiday closure will come and the contagion will slow down.
The government however wants to go both of them the paths: both lower the parameters to define the red zones, and intervene before a new flame.
For the definition of the red areas, however, the Veneto has become the symbol insufficiency of the current system: for a month the region of Italy has been the one that worries the most, however, it has remained in the yellow zone due to the intersection of parameters.
Therefore, now we want to review a couple of criteria: the percentage of positives per one hundred thousand inhabitants and the level of Rt.
Today To become the orange zone, a region must have the Rt of 1.25, to become red in 1.5: the objective is to bring them to 1 and 1.25 (thus decreasing by 0.25).
If so, according to the latest data, Calabria, Liguria and Veneto would immediately end up in the orange zone (but very close to the red).
