Third consecutive day in which in Piedmont the cases of contagion by covid-19 exceed a thousand units. Today, January 1, 2021, according to data reported by the Crisis Unit, 1,120 people tested positive for the coronavirus (of which 130 after antigen tests), which is equivalent to 9% of the 12,413 swabs performed, of which 6626 antigenic. Of the 1,120 new cases, 412 were asymptomatic, which is equivalent to 36.8%.
Almost 8 thousand dead
The victims, in our region, with today’s figures, reach almost 8 thousand units since the beginning of the pandemic. There are 38 swab positive deaths, 1 of which occurred today (note that the cumulative updated data reported daily also includes deaths that occurred in the previous days and were only subsequently determined as covid deaths). The total, exactly, is therefore 7,960 deaths that tested positive for the virus, divided as follows by province: 1219 Alessandria, 498 Asti, 334 Biella, 909 Cuneo, 662 Novara, 3644 Turin, 373 Vercelli, 251 Verbano- Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 70 residents outside the region but died in Piedmont.
Hospitalizations
Hospitalizations in Piedmont continue to decline. In intensive care they are 184 (-6 compared to yesterday) while not in intensive care they are 2,784 (-111 compared to yesterday); 25,542 people in home isolation. The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 2,030,222 (+ 12,413 compared to yesterday), of which 923,334 were negative.
The healed
A total of 166,056 cured patients (+ 2924 compared to yesterday) divided as follows by provinces: 14,498 Alessandria, 8,192 Asti, 5,314 Biella, 22,851 Cuneo, 13,643 Novara, 87,790 Turin, 6,005 Vercelli, 5806 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 833 extra-region and 1124 under definition.
