All of Italy has started the new year in the red zone.
Until January 6, except for January 4, which will be the orange zone, the whole country will be “red”: therefore, shops, bars, non-essential restaurants are closed and travel is prohibited even within the municipality itself .
But what will happen after January 7? The government has specified that any decision will be made based on epidemiological data that will arrive after the Epiphany. In fact, on January 7 the restrictive Christmas measures expire and the color bands will come into effect again depending on the trend of contagion in the regions (red zone, orange zone and yellow zone).
Piedmont from January 7 in the yellow zone?
If there are no sudden changes in the infection data, Piedmont should revert to the yellow zone, as in the run-up to Christmas. This means freedom of movement within the region and into other yellow regions, shops open without restrictions, bars and restaurants open until 6pm and curfew from 10pm to 5am.

However, a new decree is expected, given that on Friday, January 15, the effects of decree law n. 158 December 2 and the Dpcm December 3. The government foresees the reopening of some activities in January, together with the decree law and the Dpcm that will replace those in force until the 15th. The system of “colored” regions will almost certainly continue.
At school on January 7?
As for the baccalaureate, there is already a date, that of January 7th, for resuming attendance at 50%. The Ministry of the Interior, in a note, announced that “the prefectures have adopted the operational documents as a result of the work of the school-transport coordination tables installed in all provinces in view of the resumption” and “of the order of the Minister of Health of December 24, 2020 which, limited to the period January 7-15, reduces class attendance to 50% “.
In Novara, the province and the prefecture are developing a plan for the restart in the presence of Novara secondary schools that foresees, from January 18, when 75% of students must return to school, 250 more trips in school buses.
