New Year’s Eve marked by fear in Ballarò. Shortly before midnight, a fire in a building in via Porta di Castro caused the sos. An entire family, father, mother and son, has been caught in the flames. The three found shelter on the balcony and called the fire department. Many in the populous neighborhood realized what was happening and mobilized. Some neighbors, with a ladder, helped the family escape. In a few moments the fire crews also arrived and left the stake. Unfortunately, the family was unable to save the dog.

It is not ruled out that the fire was caused by an artificial fire, which exploded from outside the building and ended up inside by mistake. First a series of used objects caught fire that the father of the family who escaped from the bonfire sells in the market and which were stored on the ground floor. Then the flames spread to the rest of the building. The police are conducting investigations. This morning crews from the brigade returned to the site to search the property. Enel technicians were also at the scene, disconnecting the building’s meter because the cables were irreparably damaged.
