Tragedy in Asti on New Year’s Eve. A 13-year-old boy died as a result of injuries to the abdomen caused by the explosion of a rocket he was driving. It happened shortly before midnight in the Via Guerra area. Rushed to the hospital, the 13-year-old boy died in the morning.
And there are eight wounded, including a woman wounded in the head by a bullet, between Naples and the province for New Year’s Eve, three in the city and five in the interior. This is the lowest number in several years, last year alone it was 48, of which 46 were for fireworks and 2 for shooting. There are no minors among the eight injured in the New Year 2020, almost all have been injured in the hands by fireworks and none are in danger of death. In Mugnano di Napoli, the 52-year-old woman, who had gone to visit her elderly mother, was hit by a stray bullet between his eyebrow and the bridge of his nose as he looked out onto the balcony. The woman is not in danger of death and in the next few days she will be operated on to extract the bullet.
Last night there were 229 interventions attributable to the New Year celebrations, a sharp decrease compared to last year, when there were 686, a variation linked to the restrictive measures adopted to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. This was announced by the Interior Ministry in a statement. The highest number also this year in Lazio 45 (last year they were 171), Campania 40, Puglia 24, Veneto 19, Lombardy 18, Sicily 17, Liguria 16.
