MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 120,328 cases of Coronavirus positivity, 632 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.5% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 0.6% and reached 106,977 (88.9% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,883,593, 11,353 more than yesterday, of which 5.6% were positive. On the other hand, today 3,536 subjects were analyzed (excluding control swabs), of which 17.9% were positive. To these are added the 5,115 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. Today’s positives are 9.678 today, -0.6% compared to yesterday. There are 988 hospitalized (41 less than yesterday), of which 150 in intensive care (10 less). Today there are 18 new deaths: 10 men and 8 women with an average age of 77.1 years.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region. The average age of the 632 cases at present is approximately 46 years (13% are under 20, 28% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 19% between 60 and 79, 9% are 80 years or plus). It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are a total of 33,537 cases to date in Florence (172 more than yesterday), 10,413 in Prato (58 more), 10,465 in Pistoia (52 more), 7,670 in Massa-Carrara (40 more: Carrara 18, Massa 15, Montignoso 1, Aulla 2, Podenzana 1, Tresana 2, Villafranca in Lunigiana 1), 12,546 in Lucca (81 more), 16,733 in Pisa (72 more), 8,636 in Livorno (54 more), 10,621 in Arezzo (59 more), 4,959 in Siena (26 more), 4,193 in Grosseto (18 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
There are 294 cases found today in the ASL Center, 235 in the Northwest, 103 in the Southeast. Tuscany ranks 12th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,226 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of around 3,452 per 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The reporting provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 4,040 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,993, Massa-Carrara with 3,936, the lowest Siena with 1,856. In total, 8,690 people are isolated in their homes, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (18 less than yesterday, less 0.2%).
There are 18,258 (810 fewer than yesterday, minus 4.2%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 4,475, Northwest 10,019, Southeast 3,764). The people admitted to the beds dedicated to covid today are a total of 988 (41 less than yesterday, minus 4%), 150 in intensive care (10 less than yesterday, minus 6.3%). In total, there are 106,977 people cured (673 more than yesterday, plus 0.6%): 486 people clinically cured (10 more than yesterday, plus 2.1%), that is, they remained asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations Infection and 106,491 (663 more than yesterday, plus 0.6%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with a negative swab.
Today there are 18 new deaths: 10 men and 8 women with an average age of 77.1 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 6 in Florence, 3 in Pistoia, 3 in Lucca, 2 in Pisa, 1 in Arezzo, 2 in Siena, 1 in Grosseto. 3,673 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,246 in Florence, 246 in Prato, 276 in Pistoia, 386 in Massa-Carrara, 339 in Lucca, 423 in Pisa, 268 in Livorno, 217 in Arezzo, 127 in Siena, 91 in Grosseto, 54 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region. Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 98.5 per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 121.9 per 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (198.1 per 100,000), Florence (123.2 per 100,000) and Pisa (100.9 per 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto. (41.1 per 100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the hospitals of the Northwest Tuscany company USL there are a total of 285 (yesterday there were 296), of which 31 (yesterday 33) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 48 patients, 6 of whom in intensive care. In Lucca hospital 48 patients, 4 of whom were in intensive care. In the Apuane hospital, 52 were hospitalized (-5 compared to yesterday), of which 13 were in intensive care (-1 compared to yesterday). In the hospital of Versilia 86 hospitalized, of which 3 in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital, 29 patients, 2 of them in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 21 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. The hospitalized in the Barga 1 hospital.
Finally, based on the daily monitoring, in the entire territory of the Northwest Tuscany Company Usl, to date (December 31) there are 10,019 (-181 compared to yesterday) people in quarantine for having had contact with infected people.
