State of care issued by Civil Protection
The snow is not over yet. There is the state of attention. After New Year’s Eve, the probability of weak precipitation from the southwest will already increase tomorrow. The most intense phase of the event is scheduled between tomorrow afternoon and Saturday night. Heavy snowfalls are announced, which will affect the north-central areas with greater intensity, a wide-ranging event with important results in the mountainous and piedmont areas, without necessarily excluding the northeastern plain. At times, the rains can also be intense and with showers. Some thunderstorms on the plains cannot be underestimated.
The snow will initially fall low, and then it will rise in the Pre-Alps already between afternoon and evening and will reach around 700-1000 meters tomorrow, despite the fact that in the Dolomites it can snow at lower altitudes. In short, heavy snowfall in the mountains, especially above 1000-1200 meters. Today it will be possible to accumulate between five and ten centimeters in the soils of the pre-Alpine valleys, locally even higher, in the coldest areas.
