best and worst of Ftse Mib in December 2020

With a rise of half a percentage point in the last week, the Ftse Mib closed the month of December with an increase of 1.2%.

Although it is not comparable with the + 23.7% achieved in November thanks to the result of the US elections and vaccine announcements, in the last month of the year the main basket of Piazza Affari registered a positive trend as a result of two events already with partial price:

  • the green light to the plan stimuli in the United States;
  • the agreement to regulate part of the relations between the European Union and the United Kingdom in the post-Brexit context.

Ftse Mib: the best performances in December 2020

The holding palm that registered the best performance is the prerogative of Moncler shares, which rose in the last month of 2020 by more than 20 percentage points (+ 21.78%). The announcement of the acquisition of Stone island.

The acquisition was evaluated by Equita analysts as “strategically appropriate” since it offers Moncler “the opportunity to accompany Stone Island in a process of geographical expansion (today 80% of turnover in Europe) and strengthening of direct distribution ( Today 78% of the turnover is wholesale) and digital, promoting a brand with a strong and differentiated positioning ”.

Definitely positive the last month of the year for the trio formed by Fiat Chrysler, CNH Industrial and Exor, respectively, with an increase of 11.43, 11.78 and 13.17 percent.

With the Brent, which in December registered + 6.6%, Saipem gained 8.1%, Eni rose 1.73% and Tenaris saw its value increase by one round percentage point.

Ftse Mib: worst performances in December 2020

In a banking sector with little movement in general (+ 0.37% of BPER, Mediobanca parity and -1.02% of Intesa Sanpaolo), the thud of UniCredit stands out, with a performance of -12.2% worse than the blue chip basket.
