When the government of Gentiloni in 2018 renewed the school contract after a blockade of almost ten years, with a sum greater than 85 euros gross and monthly, the Hon. The ills of the Italian school are long-standing and endemic: chicken coop classes, chronic precariousness, period staff cuts, outdated construction, reduced school hours, oversized and unmanageable schools, administrative support structures reduced to the blink of an eye, unsupported autonomy , etc. But the lack of attractiveness of the teaching profession is also part of this bleak picture. Inadequate salaries are one of the causes that lead to empty rankings, uncovered classes, and a vertical drop in the social status of the profession.
