The reopening of schools on January 7 is approaching and questions about the organization are becoming more frequent. We know that the State-Regions agreement establishes that the return of secondary schools will be made from 50% of the students who attend.

The document of understanding commits, among other things, the parties to guarantee that from now on “Any new suspension or limitation of classroom teaching activities is expected as a residual measure.”

The agreement provides that the competent institutions reprogram, based on the operational documents prepared by the tables managed by the Prefects, the local and regional public transport services and the consequent need to activate additional services to ensure the correct development of the school year.

What to do if students don’t use public transportation?

But if high school students do not use public transportation to go to school, it is mandatory for schools to adopt different entry and exit times?

An important answer comes from USR Lazio, which has published a clarification note with useful information on the matter.

The note at one point addresses the question: My students don’t use public transportation. Can I deviate from the indications regarding entry times?

Yes. Schools that are exclusively attended by students who do not use public transport, for contingent reasons, may waive the regulations on admission times. To do this, in any case they must request authorization from the regional office of the college through the competent provincial office.
