Sexual violence on Bibbona beach, then photos on social networks. Four boys arrested

Livorno, December 30, 2020 – 4 young people arrested for one Sexual violence that occurred on the beach of Marina di Bibbona last August 3. By order of the Livorno Prosecutor’s Office, which led the investigations, the Carabinieri of the Livorno Investigation Unit and the Cecina Company executed an order for the application of house arrest with an electronic bracelet, issued by the Livorno Court Gip, towards four Italians between 23 and 26 years old, tall residents in the Val di Cecina.

The precautionary measure was issued at the end of the investigation that began on August 5, when the Cecina carabinieri were activated by the health personnel of the local hospital. That morning, in fact, one came to the emergency room 20 years who claimed to have been a victim of sexual violence by a group of young people the night of August 2 to 3 on the beach of Marina di Bibbona. The protocols issued by the health company (“Pink Code”) and by the Public Ministry of Livorno (the so-called “Red Code” regarding the protection of vulnerable victims were activated immediately to guarantee the young woman, immediately, the assistance necessary, medical and psychological, and quickly identify those responsible, mitigating as far as possible the trauma already suffered.

The investigations were carried out by personnel from the Livorno Army Investigation Unit. The young victim, in front of the Public Ministry and investigators, carried out, the investigators explain, “an exhausting and painful reconstruction of the events, but which made it possible to collect a series of unequivocal feedback on the woman’s statements.” In the course of the investigation it emerged that all four suspects had previously ingested alcohol, a circumstance that can only partially explain the ease with which they would have acted. Another serious detail that emerged is that the most adult of the group, the 26-year-old, stole the victim’s underpants and after the violence shared a photo of himself with the underwear shown as a trophy on WhatsApp. The investigating judge of the Court ordered the precautionary custody of house arrest with an electronic bracelet for the 4 detainees.
