Four boys between 26 and 23 years of age were arrested on the morning of Wednesday, December 30 by the carabinieri of the Livorno investigation unit, led by Major Michele Morelli, and of the Company of Cecina, led by Captain Christian bottacci, on charges of ongoing group sexual assault. They are now under house arrest with the electronic bracelet. The oldest, the 26-year-old, would also have stolen the victim’s underpants, sharing them as if they were a trophy in some WhatsApp chats.
The events – as the Tyrrhenian Sea anticipated – would have occurred last summer in Marina di Bibbona – the area where the handcuffed young people live – on the night between Sunday 2 and Monday 3 August. The victim was a 20-year-old Tuscan tourist who tried by all means to oppose the violence, but unfortunately was unable to do so. The girl, a few days later, decided to go to the emergency room of the Cecina hospital (where injuries were found compatible with what she declared) and then report everything to the military, who also assisted her from a psychological point of view. , the “pink code” having been activated by the health authority and the “red code” by the Prosecutor’s Office for the protection of vulnerable people.
From that moment the investigations began, the four young people being investigated. Over the months, the carabinieri – coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Niccolò Volpe, head of the investigation – gathered more evidence about what happened, convincing the judge of the preliminary investigation to sign an order of preventive detention due to the risk of repeating the crime.
