Incentives for cars 2021, now it’s official: discounts also for gasoline, diesel and hybrids

With today’s final approval by the Senate, the budget law makes 370 million euros available to the automotive world, of which 250 million euros are used to support the purchase of gasoline, diesel, complete hybrids and mild hybrids. with emissions between 61 and 135 g / km of CO2, valid until June 30, 2021 and only in the event of scrapping. Instead, there are 120 million that will be used as an additional bonus until December 31, 2021 for electric cars and plug-in hybrids, which will be added to the sum of 200 million that finances the ecological bonuses provided for by the 2019 budget law. the requests of the 5-Star Movement, aimed at preferentially strengthening incentives for rechargeable and zero-emission hybrid cars, but also from the Democratic Party and a large part of the opposition forces, attentive to a measure that would speed up the renewal of the circulating fleet in benefit of the environment and the automotive sector.

In detail, for cars with emissions in the range of 61-135 g / km, calculated however according to the new Wltp regulation and no longer in the previous Nedc homologation cycle, the contribution is foreseen only in the presence of scrapping amounts to 1,500 euros paid, to which 2,000 euros are added by the dealer. The measure remains valid until June 30, 2021, unless funds are depleted. It is important to note that the text does not explicitly refer to electrified motors, therefore The incentives are technically valid not only for hybrid cars or mild hybrids, but also for traditional gasoline and diesel engines, provided they have a low environmental impact.. Support for cars with emissions below 61 g / km has also been reformulated. Cars in the range between 0 and 20 g / km of CO2 enjoy an incentive of 8,000 euros, in addition to the contribution of 2,000 euros from the dealer: all this in the event of scrapping a car that is at least 10 years old. In the absence of scrapping, the bonus is reduced to 5,000 euros plus 1,000 of the dealer’s contribution. For cars with CO2 emissions between 21 and 60 g / km, typically plug-in hybrids, the expected bonus is 4,500 euros plus 2,000 of the dealer’s contribution in the event of scrapping, 2,500 plus 1,000 in the event of not scrapping.
