Precisely today (yesterday for the reader) I asked the Region to intervene promptly to protect the spas and prevent the sea from reaching the road. The answer: we need an order from the President of the Region. I invite Eugenio Giani to verify with his own eyes the emergency situation in which the entire coast of Massa finds itself. Meanwhile, we have prepared a master plan with the technicians of the Frigido-Lavello section that we will share with the spas, but the coast cannot be analyzed in pieces ”.

During the day yesterday, the concern among bathers was about the expected storm of the night, for which the wave was expected more than three meters below the coast. Meanwhile, last night’s storm is not only devouring meters of beach, especially in the section of Ronchi Poveromo between English 6.7 and 8 (the last interventions carried out) reaching the road, but the sea has brought with it lots of firewood and lavaone. and scattered the mounds prepared by the spas and waiting to be carried by the tractors. Let’s analyze the 8 kilometers of coastline area by area and start in the west. In Partaccia the dam of logs transported by the sea completely covers the beach, even slowing down the fury of the sea a bit. It seems that the erosive situation is stationary for now. TO Marina di Massa the sea reaches Bagno Marchini, as always, eating that thin stretch of beach that we hope will not remain in the memory, while in Marina Centro it seems that for now the barriers withstand the blows of the sea. The real fear is in the east. In Ronchi the sea has invaded the road and the meters that could be lost in this storm add up to the approximately 50 meters lost after the previous storms, that is, the beginning of the season and the end of the 2020 season. In Poveromo the sea is entering leaving some steps a few meters.
