A lot of emotion, “like when you live a party”, but also the reason that, fueled by work experience, makes her say with conviction: “I made the right decision.” In any case, the awareness of having lived “a historical moment” as the protagonist. Cristina Cricco, 56, secretary of the medical department of the ‘Santa María’ hospital in Terni, was the first Terni to be vaccinated against Covid-19 as part of the ‘national vaccine day’ that took place in Umbria Sunday morning at the hospital of Spoleto.

“It will be the climate that has been heavy for months – he says – due to this virus that has made us live, see and hear of all colors, ruining normal days and holidays, but I can assure you that I experienced the vaccine as a true liberation. I am not a doctor but working closely with the ‘Santa María’ health personnel, I know what these people who pass by us every day have lived and are living. And the vaccine, this ‘light’ that we finally see at the end of the tunnel, what if it is not the beginning of a liberation? ».

Cristina Cricco will receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on January 18. “We need a sense of responsibility towards ourselves and others. Certainly, there is a strong emotional component to the gesture made today. But the reason is equally important and is what made me stay home, away from loved ones, even at Christmas. And it is thanks to this vaccine, in which I put all my trust, like many other colleagues of mine who are eager to do so, that we will embrace each other again, to kiss those we love. The road continues to tire – says Cristina – but now there is a new perspective. Thanks to science, to the professionals who are making it possible, it is essential. And now we look forward with confidence.
