This morning the Vaccine Day (V-Day) also in Tuscany. At 8 o’clock, the Army delivered the first 620 doses of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine to the Careggi hospital.
The first to be vaccinated at the Careggi CTO clinics were two nurses: Simona Bausi and Elena Berti. After today’s symbolic day (45 vaccinated in Careggi), on January 2, vaccinations will resume at the 8 CTO clinics that have the potential to administer 800 vaccines per day. A not short trip that will accompany us throughout 2021.
From Careggi the other 580 doses were taken to San Giovanni di Dio and RSA Montedomini. And in the rest of Tuscany they reached the hospitals San Iacopo in Pistoia, Santo Stefano di Prato, San Giuseppe di Empoli, Aou di Pisa, Livorno hospital, San Luca di Lucca, Apuane hospital in Massa, the Aou delle Scotte in Siena, the San Donato in Arezzo, the Misericordia hospital in Grosseto and the only Rsa.
The message of the President of the Region Eugenio Giani
Elena and Simona are the first vaccinated in Tuscany.
Both nurses have been in charge of the wards for months. # COVID-19, are the symbol of our brave Tuscany that fights and takes care to rise up more united than ever.
