Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection has issued a meteorological alert that foresees hurricane force winds in Sardinia from tonight – December 27 and from early morning tomorrow in Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, in extension to Campania, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.
Given the arrival of the disturbance, the Brennero motorway has started snow removal activities with some 300 mobilized operators and 220 available vehicles.
In addition, tomorrow snow is expected to the plains of Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Autonomous Province of Trento, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Interior of Liguria and Emilia-Romagna. The Department also evaluated an orange alert in part of Emilia-Romagna and Gargano in Puglia for tomorrow.
