Monza, the first anti-Covid vaccines at the San Gerardo hospital. But people must be convinced: only 47% are willing to be vaccinated, confidence must grow
Also in Monza, at the San Gerardo hospital, Vax Day is being celebrated. 50 doses arrived on the morning of Sunday, December 27. Among the first vaccinated Matteo Cesana, nurse in charge of the emergency service of Asst Monza, Silvia Crippa, head of Asst Monza for vaccinations and president of the Order of Doctors of Monza Teruzzi. More than 90% of general practitioners say yes to the vaccine
The first anti-Covid vaccines were also carried out in San Gerardo at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27. In the morning 50 doses arrived to be administered among the 12 selected by the Ats. The other vaccines are for people selected by Asst Monza and Asst Vimercate (19 + 19). Also present were the regional vice president Fabrizio Sala, the directors of the Bicocca University, the presidents of the Brianza medical and pharmacist orders.
The first vaccinated were Matteo Cesana, nurse in charge of the Asst Monza emergency service, and Silvia Crippa, head of Asst Monza of vaccinations. Today only health personnel are vaccinated, then directors and non-health personnel will be vaccinated. At 3:20 pm, ten doses were administered.
In official speeches, everyone spoke of a day that is not only a symbol but, as Sala reiterated, important to move on to the virus attack. An important moment that, however, should not lead us to lower our guard. Great attention to the research topic: Cristina Messa, rector of the University of Milan-Bicocca, one of the testimonies, spoke of the importance of world work on a completely new vaccine. It arrived in record time but is also safe and effective.
The president of the Order of Doctors of Monza and Brianza Carlo Maria Teruzzi was vaccinated and he did it on behalf of all his colleagues and those who are no longer there. An updated survey this morning among general practitioners in the province reveals that just over 90% say yes to the vaccine. But the remaining percentage is too high.
Monza Mayor Dario Allevi thanked the hospital, health workers and researchers. Now an important phase begins because a survey says that only 47% of the population says yes to the vaccine. All highlighted the importance of responsible information to prevent the circulation of false news, to build trust
Mario Alparone, CEO of Asst de Monza underlined the importance of a collaboration system: the Monza hub will collaborate with Vimercate, another storage center with a -75 degree fridge. However, Monza may also have new refrigerators made available by the university, creating an integrated work system in the territory. Alparone announced plans to vaccinate staff in three weeks.
