Liguria – The first 9,750 doses of Pfizer-Biontech’s anti-Covid vaccine destined for Italy arrived in Rome yesterday afternoon, from Belgium from Belgium. Taken from the Tor di Quinto barracks, they went to the Spallanzani institute for division into boxes that will then be delivered to the military for distribution in the country. Some military vehicles will depart for destinations that can be reached by land within a radius of 300 kilometers, others will go to the Pratica di Mare military airport where the remaining doses will be addressed by airplanes to other destinations. And so, the 60,142 doses reserved for Liguria will arrive next night at the La Spezia Navy arsenal. Hence the first 320 “symbolic” doses for the “Vaccine Day” scheduled for tomorrow December 27 in Genoa: they will leave by land, naturally with an escort, to the San Martino hospital. The van should show up around 8am in Genoa.

Genoa first. The first to undergo the injection in pavilion 3 will be Gloria Capriata, a 48-year-old nurse from San Martino, coordinator of Covid resuscitation installed on the second floor of the monoblock. Other doctors, nurses and health workers from the Genovés Polyclinic will come after her. A part of the vials, once the dilution procedure is completed in San Martino, will be transferred to Villa Marta di Betania on the heights of Castelletto, the first RSA in Liguria where guests and staff will receive the vaccine.

Storage. There are no critical issues for the first phase as, to date, the storage capacity of Pfizer products is 700,000 doses. In the overall vaccination plan, the extensive and capillary supply of dedicated refrigeration equipment will make the vaccination mechanism process even more efficient. Therefore, the actions taken to acquire additional refrigerators for low temperature storage are aimed at guaranteeing at least one appliance for each unit.

For each province. The 60,142 doses will be distributed in the 14 administration units (Asl 4 will have a single administration unit). Each point of administration will have medicines, pharmacological aids and instruments available for the management of any emergency. This is how they will be divided:
