Countdown also in Emilia-Romagna to the day of the vaccine. A historic day with strong symbolic value for all European countries in the fight against the pandemic, which in Emilia Romagna will begin on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with the administration of the first doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine to 975 regional health professionals from Piacenza to Rimini. Doctors and nurses, therefore, with precedence over vaccinators who will be at the forefront of this campaign, distributed as follows: 50 in Piacenza, 100 in Parma, 100 in Reggio Emilia, 150 in Modena, 225 (+50 by Cra) Bologna (including the staff of the Orthopedic Institutes of Rizzoli), 25 in Imola, 50 in Ferrara and 225 in the territory of the AUSL of Romagna.

Only one first outpost of the “army” of about 180 thousand professionals, among those who work in health (92 thousand 600 employees) and those of facilities for the elderly and disabled (84 thousand 600 people), which constitutes the first section of the population that in line with that provided by the Ministry of Health will be subjected to vaccination in Emilia-Romagna. For Romagna, the centers identified are the Pala De Andrè in Ravenna, the Rimini Exhibition Center and Cesena Fiera. As for the vaccinators who will serve on Sunday, there is no “typical team”, as there will be in the actual vaccination campaign, but it is at the discretion of the company organization. All the companies have sent the names of the identified doctors and nurses to the Ministry of Health.

One control room for all healthcare companies

Each health company has a control room for the organization of vaccination, under the supervision of the regional health policy. In the territories where there are also Irccs and hospital-university companies, a single control room has been defined. Coordinated by the Directorate of Health, and composed of a doctor from the Directorate of Health (who will play the role of reference with the Region), a public health doctor, a primary care doctor, a head of the Department of Welfare, a chief Health Social Activities Directorate, pharmacist (responsible for the hub that will contain the vaccine doses), contact person of the ICT Service, competent company doctor, contact person of Civil Protection, contact person of the Provincial Medical College

Romagna data

Two hundred and twenty-five health workers will be vaccinated in the three planned places: the Cesena Fair (85 operators from the territorial areas of Forlì and Cesena), the Pala De Andrè in Ravenna (70 operators) and the Rimini Fair (70 operators). These first vaccines were identified on the basis of their role in the treatment of COVID-19 infection. These are in particular vaccinators, that is, those who will then be in charge of carrying out more vaccinations; more generally, they are nurses and doctors who in any case work in areas and structures involved in the management of covid.

After Sunday, which has great symbolic importance, there will be, at the beginning of January, another vaccination step that will involve some twenty thousand people in Romagna, and which will include the rest of the health personnel, as well as the guests and operators of the Cra. To carry out the vaccinations, teams will be created that go to the facilities themselves, composed according to the size of the facility. We will continue to provide vaccination points for healthcare workers and there will probably be more than the current three.

After this second step for operators and structures, the Ministry is working on vaccinating the general population, for which the Company will organize itself as soon as the corresponding guidelines are established. We are talking about the month of February.
