The Cordero di Montezemolo family villa in Castiglione Torinese caught fire last night. The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on the roof of the house located on Castiglione hill in Strada San Martino. According to a first hypothesis, the flames would have originated from the Christmas lights on the ceiling, probably due to a failure. The house is owned by the notary Marco Cordero di Montezemolo, 71 years old, two years younger than his brother Luca, former president of Fiat, Ferrari and Confindustria. At the time of the fire, the professional was not at home. But there were the in-laws, who were unharmed. The alarm was raised by the neighbors.

The flames were clearly visible even from a distance and firefighters from across the province came to tame them with numerous crews working late into the night. The firefighters also rescued the animals that lived on the farm. Police investigations are also ongoing into the incident.
