Weather nightmare after christmas: conditions are getting worse weather in the northern regions, extending from the afternoon also towards the center-south, with snowfalls to low altitudes in the center, storms on the southern slopes of the Tyrrhenian and a strong reinforcement of the winds in Sardinia.
This was announced by the Civil protection which issued a yellow alert for tomorrow, Saturday, December 26, in 11 regions: Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.
Starting tonight, snowfall is expected at altitudes above 400-600 meters in Abruzzo and Umbria and at altitudes above 600-800 meters in Sardinia. Precipitation is also expected, even if it is a downpour or storm, in Campania, Basilicata and Calabria, especially on the slopes of the Tyrrhenian. Storm winds are expected in Sardinia, with storm surges along the coasts.
Monday will be the highlight of the bad weather and snowfall, when the disturbance will make its decisive entrance, extending from the Northwest to the Northeast and flowing over the pre-existing cold air cushion. Snowfall will occur in Piedmont, Lombardy and Western Emilia, sometimes in Veneto and Friuli (initially, therefore, flakes in Padua, Verona, Pordenone, Udine, it is also possible in Venice), even if in the afternoon the increase of Temperature will transform snow into rain in the Eastern Lombard Plains and those of the Veneto / Friulano. Snow also in the interior of Liguria, especially Savona and Genovese and the Tuscan-Emilian mountain range, in the central Apennines from 1200 m. In the Ligurian Apennines and the Langhe there can be snow showers with occasional snow storms.
