Giovanna Pederzolli and her son Michele Tranquillini are the two people found lifeless in the car taken out of the Adige by the Fire Department, after two days of investigation. The woman was 69 years old, her son 27. Now it will be up to the police to determine what happened on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 23: how and why the car ended up in the river, in the absence of witnesses.
Nothing is excluded, and it will not be easy to reconstruct what happened. On both banks of the river, there is nothing to suggest a highway exit. The hypothesis is that the tragedy occurred at the only point where, for about ten meters, between the embankment road and the river there is no railing. The mother, who may have been ill, was driving. Tire tracks suggest a descent without acceleration.
The alarm went off, as mentioned, on the afternoon of December 23, with a telephone call to 112. Later, a photo of the car emerging at the water level also appeared. That same night, however, the husband had reported the disappearance of his wife and son. On the night of December 24, confirmation arrived that the bodies found in the car were those of Giovanna and Michele.
