Dozens of young people hitting each other in the street, between parked cars and people walking: it happened last night, December 24, on Christmas Eve, in Ercolano, in the province of Naples. The dynamics of the events and the reason that triggered the fight, which broke out, is not yet clear Trieste and Trento square, in the center of the town on the slopes of Vesuvius, despite the fact that just yesterday, throughout Italy, the red zone was activated, established to limit the spread of the Coronavirus: the intervention of the police was necessary to avoid that there could be worse consequences and disperse the crowd; Investigations are being carried out in this regard by the Municipal Police of Herculano.
There are many citizens who live in the square who, from their balconies and from their homes, have resumed violence, also posting the images on social networks and commenting on the fight with a laconic, as eloquent: “This is Herculaneum.” Tensions were also registered in the afternoon not far from the place of the fight, in Corsican Italy, where some young people had already clashed, in broad daylight, on the street.
As mentioned, the act of violence, already unjustifiable in itself, is made even more absurd by the anti-Covid regulations that were triggered yesterday throughout the country and that imposed the red zone, and the consequent limitations, in all of Italy. Even in Campania, therefore, you can move only for the now known proven needs, such as work or health, and most shops are closed, except for those selling goods and services considered essential.
