He died of Covid at age 40, stricken by a disease that eventually won him over without leaving him a chance. Thus died Roberto Viollotta, a forty-something from Fossalta di Portogruaro who was admitted to the Covid hospital in Jesolo, where he had arrived in early December.

The news is given by the Nuova di Venezia, which tells how the man’s clinical picture has gradually worsened over the days. Until Villotta sent a message to his old friends, confiding in them all his worries and fears. “It is difficult – Roberto wrote in a message sent to friends – If my clinical picture does not improve, they have to intubate me”.
Villotta had been intubated a week after arriving at the hospital, although initially his condition appeared to be improving. He had even turned negative, reports the Gazzettino Veneto, but the virus had unfortunately already compromised his lungs. At that point it was necessary to transfer Villotta to intensive care in San Donà where, yesterday afternoon, he died.
