Florence, December 24, 2020 – I.north Tuscany there are 117,542 cases of positivity in coronavirus, 563 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.5% more than the total of the previous day. THE healed they grew 0.9% (916 units) and reached 103,021 (87.6% of all cases). THE tampons executed reached 1,830,077, 11,680 more than yesterday, of which 4.8% positive. Today 280 cases have been found in the Central Local Health Authority, 206 in the Northwest, 77 in the Southeast.
Tuscany ranks 11th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,152 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is around 3,299 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,967 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,910, Massa Carrara with 3,858, the lowest Siena with 1,776.
In total, 9,920 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or are asymptomatic (368 less than yesterday, less 3.6%). There are 21,899 (956 less than yesterday, less 4.2%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 6,482, Northwest 11,546, Southeast 3,871).

3,552 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,209 in Florence, 242 in Prato, 269 in Pistoia, 375 in Massa Carrara, 323 in Lucca, 403 in Pisa, 262 in Livorno, 212 in Arezzo, 118 in Siena , 86 in Grosseto, 53 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 95.2 x 100,000 residents compared to 116.6 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (192.4 x 100 000), Florence (119.5 x 100 000) and Pisa (96.2 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (38.8 x 100,000).
