Take the Red Zone: Here’s What You Can and Can’t Do – Chronicle

It was the last day in the yellow zone before the Christmas season. Shops will close at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, after the bars and restaurants that lowered the blinds at 6:00 p.m. and will only reopen on January 7.
But what are the rules to follow for the next two weeks? Let’s recap. From Christmas Eve to Epiphany, on holidays and the eve of holidays, 10 of the 14 days, we will be in the red zone. Only stores considered essential are open: groceries, pharmacies, kiosks, but also laundries, hairdressers, opticians, clothes, toys, computers and stationery. Instead, stop at the malls. You will be able to leave home only for work and emergencies, to go shopping, do sports near home, go to mass, in any case without leaving the municipality.
There is an exception: once a day you can go to visit a friend or relative, but there must be a maximum of two, plus those under 14 years of age and people who are not self-sufficient.
The other four days (December 28, 29 and 30, and January 4) we will be in the orange zone: for bars and restaurants nothing will change, only home deliveries and take-out are allowed, while the rest of the stores may open.
There is another exception, and it applies to municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants: residents may leave the municipal area and move within a radius of 30 km, without reaching the provincial capitals.
