The agreement on the reopening of schools in January was signed today at the Unified Conference of Local Authorities-Regions-State.
Now the Guidelines should be issued with operational directions on how to continue the school year safely, with a focus on secondary school.
Among other things, the document commits the parties to guarantee that from now on “any suspension or additional limitation of face-to-face teaching activities is considered as a residual measure.”
Minister Lucía Azzolina is satisfied and declares: “I am very happy with the agreement signed. High school students and students will finally be able to return to school. They had asked us. It is good that they can do it thanks to the commitment of all the institutions involved. This is an agreement that includes important innovations, including a measure that I have been asking for for a long time: the strengthening of the school monitoring system ”.
The Ministry clarifies that the return to secondary schools will take place from 50% of the students who attend to gradually reach 75% according to the indications that will be given with an order from the Ministry of Health.
Regarding the issue of transport, however, it is confirmed that everything will depend on the decisions made at the work tables installed in the Prefectures.
The situation in this regard is very varied, as we have already had the opportunity to write as local conditions differ from one city to another.
During the Unified Day, it was also agreed that the Autonomous Regions and Provinces will prepare an operational plan to ensure the rapid and timely application of the health protocols related to the screening procedures of the student population.
In addition, there will be an actual preferred lane for the school in order to allow immediate administration of quick swabs to close contacts of the infected person.
Minister Azzolina also assured that the Government is working to seek additional funds for the recognition of the supplementary salary for the ATA staff who must intensify their work performance to ensure the operation of the school even in the afternoon.
