(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, DECEMBER 23 – United States President Donald Trump pardoned another group of his political allies, including Paul Manafort, head of his 2016 election campaign, Roger Stobe, long-time advisor and friend time, and Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner.
This was announced by the White House.
In total, the second wave of pardons affects 26 people, plus three others whose sentences have been commuted. Manafort and Stone had been involved in the investigation of Russiagate’s special counsel Robert Muller, as well as other Trump allies pardoned in the first wave of measures, including Michael Flynn and George Papadoupoulos. Instead, Kushner’s father pleaded guilty in 2004 to several crimes, including tax evasion, witness intimidation and misrepresentation before federal authorities, charges that cost him two years in prison.
