The coronavirus positivity index is slowly falling in Campania: today the virus is registering 1,067 positives out of 18,426 swabs performed276 more than yesterday but with 8,241 more swabs processed. In percentage, it means that 5.79% of the tests are positive, two percentage points less than yesterday when the contagion rate was 7.77%. Of all these newly infected, 967 are asymptomatic and only 100 have symptoms. After the November record with 99,579 positive swabs, therefore, the month of December registered a significant slowdown, as a result of the decrees and ordinances of recent days.
More generally, the total of positives amounts to 183,117 about 1,946,290 swabs processed, while the number of victims rises to 2,643 with the 19 deaths registered yesterday, although the crisis unit is quick to specify that “they have died previously.” In contrast, hospital admissions figures improved: 1,513 hospitalized with symptoms, 16 less than yesterday and 107 patients in intensive care, 11 less than yesterday. And the number of cured patients is also growing, from 98,167 to 100,527 with 2,360 negative in 24 hours.
