There are 14,522 new positives for coronavirus and 553 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. With 553 victims in the last 24 hours, Italy exceeds the threshold of 70,000 deaths from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic: there are 70,395.

According to data from the ministry, 175,364 swabs were made in the last 24 hours in Italy. Compared to yesterday (166,205), the tests have increased by around 9 thousand. The positivity rate is almost 8.3%, slightly up from 8.01% yesterday.

“The contagion curve is stable, in progressive freezing, with a positive swab ratio of 7.9%, never this low since October 20, for more than 60 days.” Commissioner Domenico Arcuri said this at a press conference.
