Starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 24, all of Italy will be red. The movements are prohibited except in two, once a day, and to go to family or friends.
The red zone will remain in effect until the 27th, then it will be orange from 28 to 30 and then red again from January 31 to 3. The 4 will be orange, then red again on the 5 and 6. The Ministry of the Interior will intensify the controls on the roads throughout Italy.
The self-certification model
Here is the form to justify the need to move, despite the prohibitions imposed by the Christmas decree approved on Friday by the government and published in the Official Gazette.

The certificate should always be with you when you leave home on the days indicated in red: December 24 to 27, December 31, January 1 to 3, and January 5 and 6. The form must be shown in case of checks.
What the red zone provides
(December 24, 25, 26 and 27; December 31 and January 1; January 2, 3, 5 and 6)
- Any movement, inside and outside the municipality itself, is prohibited, except for work needs, situations of need and health reasons. To move you need self-certification.
- During the holidays, you can visit family and friends. Only two people are allowed to move into private homes and only once a day. You can bring with you children under 14 years of age, people with disabilities or not self-sufficient. Self-certification is always required.
- The curfew remains in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- For those who violate the prohibitions provided by the decree law, penalties ranging from 400 to 1,000 euros are provided.
- Retail commercial activities (stores, beauty centers) are suspended, except the sale of food and basic necessities.
- Newsagents, tobacconists, pharmacies, parapharmacies, laundries, hairdressers and barbers remain open. Places of worship can remain open until 10:00 p.m.
- The activities of catering services (including bars, pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlors, patisseries) are suspended. Catering is allowed with home delivery and, until 10 pm, with take away food.
- Individual physical activity and sports are allowed near your home.
What the orange zone provides
(December 28, 29, 30 and January 4)
- You can leave your home but any movement in and out of the municipalities of residence is prohibited.
- One rule refers to the smallest municipalities: it is possible to leave the territory of municipalities with less than five thousand inhabitants within a radius of 30 kilometers. However, you will not be able to travel to the provincial capitals, even if they are within a 30-kilometer radius.
- The shops can remain open until 9:00 p.m., but the activities of the catering services are suspended (including bars, pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlors, patisseries). Catering with delivery service is allowed and, until 10 pm, take-out catering, with prohibition of consumption on the spot or in the immediate vicinity. In any case, the restaurants on the highway and the catering services at the stations and airports remain open.
EXCEPTIONS TO BLOCKING STORES IN THE RED ZONES
Retail
– Retail trade in non-specialized stores with a predominance of food products and beverages (hypermarkets, supermarkets, food discount stores, minimarkets and other non-specialized stores of various foods)
– Retail trade of surgelati products
– Retail trade in non-specialized exercises in computing, peripherals, telecommunications equipment, audio and video consumer electronics, household appliances
– Retail sale of food products, beverages and tobacco in specialized establishments (ateco codes: 47.2), including those specialized in the sale of electronic cigarettes and inhalation liquids
– Retail sale of fuel for auto-traction in specialized exercises
– Retail sale of computer and telecommunications equipment (ICT) in specialized stores (ateco code: 47.4)
– Retail sale of hardware, paints, flat glass and building materials (including ceramics and tiles) in specialized stores
– Retail trade of hygienic-sanitary articles
– Retail trade of machinery, equipment and products for agriculture and gardening
– Retail trade of items for lighting and security systems in specialized exercises
– Trade with the detail of the books in specialized exercises.
– Retail trade of newspapers, magazines and newspapers
– Retail trade of cartography items and office supplies
– Retail trade of clothing and calzature for children and babies
– Retail trade of personal biancheria
– Retail trade of sporting goods, bicycles and articles for free time in specialized exercises
– Trade of cars, motorcycles and their respective parts and accessories
– Retail trade of games and toys in expert exercises.
– Retail sale of drugs in specialized establishments (pharmacies and other specialized establishments of non-prescription medicines)
– Retail trade of medical and orthopedic articles in specialized exercises
– Retail trade of cosmetics, profumeria and erboristeria items in specialized exercises
– Retail trade of flowers, cried, bulbs, seeds and fertililizzanti
– Retail trade of pets and pet food in specialized exercises
– Retail sale of material for optics and photography
– Retail trade of fuel for domestic use and for heating
– Retail trade of soaps, detersivi, produced for lucidatura and affini
– Retail trade of funeral articles and cimiteriali
– Mobile retail trade of: food products and beverages; fruits and vegetables; fish; meat; flowers, plants, bulbs, seeds and fertilizers; perfumes and cosmetics; soaps, detergents and other cleaners; linen; clothing and footwear for children and babies
– Retail trade of any type of product made via the internet, for TV, for correspondence, radio, telephone
– Trade carried out through automatic vending machines
