Lyon, December 23, 2020 – Three gendarmes were killed fired at night and a quarter were wounded in an isolated village in central France, Puy de Dome. But terrorism has nothing to do with it: the police were attacked by a violent man, 48, who threatened his wife. The woman, very scared, had taken refuge on the roof of a house, near the village of Saint-Just, in the Clermont-Ferrand region.
Called by a case of disturbance of the peace of the house, the agents found themselves in front of a scene from A Clockwork Orange: they approached the house shortly after midnight and were shot at. The gunman initially an officer shot and killed e ne ha hurt another, prior to set fire to the house. According to the Clermont-Ferrand prosecution, two other officers were shot and killed. Officials reported that the woman was rescued and that at least seven elite tactical agents are in place.
“The greatest precautions are being taken with regard to the danger of the individual,” said a source close to the investigation. It seems that the gunman is known to the authorities for allegations related to matters of Childcare. There are also firefighters on site trying to control the fire.
