Instead, the depth of the event is estimated at 30 kilometers.
For the earthquake, firefighter operating rooms have so far only received information calls and no requests for help or damage reports. This is what firefighters write on Twitter.
The earthquake has caused panic in the population, although so far – it is confirmed – no damage or injuries have been reported. In some towns in the province, particularly in Vittoria and Modica, people took to the streets.
“I was so afraid, everything was shaking”: these are the words of Stefano Sucato, who lives in Comiso (Ragusa), after the earthquake tonight. “Many people have fled and are still on the street,” he adds. The earthquake was felt in many municipalities in eastern Sicily, but also in some areas on the western side. “My wife is in Lascari, in the Palermo area, and she has also warned her,” says Sucato.
