The government crisis caused by Renzi’s recriminations cannot fail to provoke rejection

How do you open a government crisis with the full approval of the budget law? How do you order a check in the middle of a pandemic? The obvious answer to these two simple questions should stop the inevitable trembling in the wrists, awaken a feeling of ripulsa for the infantile recriminations of a non-existent party.

The brutal reprimand of Sergio Mattarella, in December 2016, when Renzi, who had promised to leave politics if the constitutional referendum was rejected, decided to go to the Quirinal the next day, to resign only as Prime Minister. The President of the Republic, with good reason, forced it to be approved by Parliament there. stability law, before opening the government crisis, and then replacing it with Gentiloni.

Renzi makes the same mistakes again, ignoring the unwritten rules of solid politics, which are then simple rules of common sense, seriousness, and meaning in life. responsibility. But for Italia Viva everything is a game on the already battered skin of the poor Italians.

Renzi’s letter to Conte is a list of problems, no matter how real, without the slightest proposal for a solution, as a result of the deplorable habit of Italians of always complain first, waiting for the solution of the problems of the “others”. We too are convinced that Parliament cannot separate itself from the management and control of the Recovery Fund, but there was already a prompt response to this, advanced by the coordinator of Article One, Arturo Scotto, who proposed the creation of a parliamentary control commission, offering the presidency to the opposition.

The primacy of Parliament must be exercised consistently and, above all, by repairing first the brutal humiliations carried out by its government. Renzi has forgotten, among other things, that he was engaged as secretary of the Democratic Party Paolo Gentiloni to put the confidence to pass a bad electoral law, but above all this we refer to the valuable article written by
Andrea Pertici, which we recommend reading.

The letter contains an endless series of “when I was in Palazzo Chigi”, “my government …” and so on: and yet, let us remember once again, Renzi resigned as Prime Minister without reason, without a vote against him. Parliament, without anyone taking it off trustIf he was so good, why didn’t he stay in his place to do his duty?

These days too Italy Long Live, along with the neglected and demagogic right wing, criticized the restrictions during the Christmas period, restrictions dictated by an obvious health emergency. We do not share the flattering content of Renzi’s letter, when he writes: “We must not blame the citizens who have followed the government’s instructions with discipline”; Nobody wants to blame the citizens, but it cannot be ignored that a substantial part of Italians have behaved and are behaving in a way irresponsible, an example of all the well-known and ingenious ploy to celebrate Halloween night, pretending to have booked a hotel room, and we are talking about a silly imported party in recent years, certainly not a newly married couple you wanted to celebrate your own wedding!

If each of us had done his duty, the death rate and spread of the virus, not counting the undeniable deficiencies of Italian health, deficiencies for which the Renzi government bears its share of responsibility, would have been significantly lower. minors. Especially if we had not had an irresponsible opposition that for months proclaimed the non-existence of the emergency and, publicly, incited the population to don’t wear the mask.

We are certainly not enthusiastic about this government, but we consider any alternative much worse of the current situation, sharing, but coherently, some of the criticisms raised by Renzi.

The dream of many, to replace it with a government of broad agreements, is based on a prejudice against the 5 star movement, a highly criticizable political issue, but no more so than the rest of the actors currently represented in Parliament, from the parliamentary groups formed at the table, which are then inconsistent in all electoral tests.

Dear Renzi, our Constitution does not foresee knowing who governs the night of the elections, nor guaranteeing a government for 5 years, but the sense of reality suggests that we can already assume with certainty that, in case of elections, you and Italia Viva you would not sit anymore in Parliament.
