There are 791 new cases of CoViD-19 in Campania compared to 10,185 swabs tested in the past 24 hours. These are the data that emerged from the regional bulletin of the Crisis Unit of the Civil Protection of the Campania Region published this afternoon, Tuesday 22 December. Of these, 78 are symptomatic, compared to 713 asymptomatic. On the other hand, 3,039 new people were recovered, with 25 new deaths: in total, the number of people fully recovered from the coronavirus in Campania since the beginning of the pandemic increased to 98,167, compared to 2,624 total victims. From the end of February until today, a total of 182,050 cases have emerged in Campania from the analyzes of 1,927,864 swabs analyzed so far. On the other hand, 118 people are in intensive care, compared to 1,529 patients in ordinary CoViD wards.

The current positivity rate in Campania is 7.76%: yesterday it was 7.15%, a slight increase in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the positivity rate in Campania has stood at 9.44%, slightly below the previous days. Meanwhile, however, there is a fight in the region, especially between President Vincenzo De Luca and the restaurateurs. The latter, in fact, intended to “limit” the losses due to the closing of last week thanks to the yellow zone of the government, which from Sunday 20 to Wednesday 23 would have planned to reopen at least for lunch. And instead the cold shower: Palazzo Santa Lucia has confirmed all the restrictions of the orange zone, which forces restorers to a new forced closure. Despite the protests, which resulted in tense moments on the street, De Luca remained adamant: he will not open. Another hot spot is the issue of schools, which cannot reopen from January 7. “We must maintain maximum rigor in the coming weeks as well,” explained De Luca, “You know better than I that January is a very delicate period. We will decide what to do in the next few days.”
