What law is in force?
During the next three days the rules established by the dpcm published in the Official Gazette on December 3 latest. The Christmas decree, in fact, will enter into force from December 24.
Can I go to another region?
No, movements will only be allowed within the region of domicile or residence, except for work, necessity or urgency reasons.
I’m working out until tonight, can I go home in the next few days?
Yes, return to residence or home is always allowed.
Can I go to my second home?
Yes and freely if you are within the same region of residence. If it is located outside, I will be able to go there only in case of unexpected breakdowns inside the house that require intervention. In this case, I will be able to move alone and stay the minimum time necessary. The exception is Abruzzo, the only region left orange. In this case, I will only be able to go to the second house in the next three days if it is in the same municipality. I will have to wait until the 24th to be able to move around the region.
Can I go to the bar or restaurant?
Yes, but only for lunch. The bars and restaurants will remain open until 6 pm Abruzzo is an exception, where the orange zone rules remain in force and only take away food will be allowed.
Are the stores open?
Yes, until 9pm.
Are the stores in the shopping centers open?
Yes, until 9pm.
Can I go to the houses of family and friends?
Yes, you can freely go to the houses of relatives and friends within your region (or municipality, if you live in Abruzzo).
I have two adult children, can I go with them and my partner to the grandparents’ house?
Yes, within your region (or municipality, if you live in Abruzzo). The rule that allows travel to a maximum of two non-cohabitants (excluding those under 14 years of age, who are not included in the calculation) will come into effect from December 24.
Can I go shopping in another municipality?
Yes, there are no limits in this regard.
My parents, who are not self-sufficient, live in another region. Can I go see them?
Yes, attendance is considered a valid reason to travel. Even those who help a person not related by family ties will have freedom of movement.
Can I move to visit another city?
Yes, but only within your region. Those who live in Abruzzo will not be able to.
Can I book a hotel room or a room on AirBnb?
Yes, but I will be able to go there before December 23 only if it is within the same region of residence. This rule does not apply to Abruzzo: you can reserve a room only within your own municipality.
If I break the rules, what risk do I have?
Fine of between 400 and 1,000 euros.
