Today, Sunday 20 December 2020, the Crisis Unit of the Piedmont Region reported 890 new cases of people who tested positive for Covid-19 (of which 61 after antigen tests), equivalent to 10.4% of the 8,544 swabs performed, of which 3,275 antigenic tests. Of the 890 new cases, 393 were asymptomatic, which is equivalent to 44.1%.
The total of positive cases thus becomes 192,373, divided as follows by provinces: 17,059 Alessandria, 9,476 Asti, 6,646 Biella, 26,675 Cuneo, 14,900 Novara, 101,282 Turin, 7,238 Vercelli, 6,447 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 1,031 residents outside the region but in charge of the Piedmontese health structures. The remaining 1,619 are under development and territorial allocation.
Hospitalizations and tampons: the numbers
There are 221 hospitalized in intensive care (-13 compared to yesterday). There are 3,389 hospitalized patients who are not in intensive care (-48 compared to yesterday). There are 37,497 people in home isolation. The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 1,867,047 (+ 8544 compared to yesterday), of which 889,569 were negative.
The deaths
There are 29 Covid-19 test positive deaths reported by the Piedmont Region Crisis Unit, of which 4 occurred today (note that the cumulative updated data reported daily also includes deaths that occurred in the previous days and were only later determined as Covid deaths). The total is now 7,528 deaths who tested positive for the virus, divided as follows: 1,152 Alessandria, 460 Asti, 321 Biella, 832 Cuneo, 628 Novara, 3,468 Turin, 356 Vercelli, 241 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 70 residents outside the region but died in Piedmont.
Cured patients
The patients cured are a total of 143,738 (+ 1,302 compared to yesterday) divided as follows by provinces: 12,273 Alessandria, 7,250 Asti, 4,396 Biella, 19,443 Cuneo, 11,955 Novara, 76,767 Turin, 5,121 Vercelli, 5,185 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola , in addition to 656 extra-region and 692 in the definition phase.
