The coronavirus positivity index remains stable in Campania: today the virus is registering 891 positives out of 14,109 swabs performed, 58 less than yesterday but with 1,630 less processed swabs. In percentage, it means that 6.31% of the tests are positive, 0.3 percentage points less than yesterday when the contagion rate was 6.03%. Of all these newly infected, 782 are asymptomatic and only 109 have symptoms. After the November record with 99,579 positive swabs, therefore, the month of December registered a significant slowdown, as a result of the decrees and ordinances of recent days.
More generally, the total of positives amounts to 180,568 on 1,908,117 swabs processed, while the number of victims rises to 2,571 with the 11 deaths registered yesterday, although the crisis unit is quick to specify that “these are already dead.” On the other hand, hospital admissions improved: 1,554 hospitalized with symptoms, 44 less than yesterday, and 119 patients in intensive care, three less than yesterday. And the number of cured patients is also growing, from 92,927 to 94,031 with 1,104 negative in 24 hours.
