After days of waiting, of setbacks, doubts and internal confrontations with the majority, the government has approved the decree that introduces new rules and prohibitions for the holidays (all the details here).

Italy appears in the red band on all holidays and days before holidays, in orange on all others. They remain in the yellow band only on December 21, 22 and 23 but with the prohibition of leaving their own Region.

The novelty is the possibility of going to the house of family and friends on vacation, but with a limitation: there can only be two, even if you can be accompanied by children under 14 years of age.

. The harvesting ban is in effect and the obligation to wear the mask indoors and outdoors. The decree launched on Friday, December 18, 2020, is added to the Dpcm that came into force on December 4 and is valid until January 15.

From December 24 to January 6, 2021 it is possible to move to second homes as long as they are within the Region of residence. For those who travel abroad between December 21 and January 15, there is an obligation, upon returning to Italy, to remain in quarantine for 14 days.

All movements on red and orange days must be justified with the self-certification form. They remain valid fines for those who do not respect the prohibitions, Police controls may also be carried out in the days following the control.

1 – On what dates is Italy a red zone?
From December 24 to January 6, holidays and the eve of holidays, that is, on December 24, 25, 26, 27 and 31, 2020, and on January 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6.

2 – When do the orange zone rules apply?
Weekdays between Christmas and New Years, then December 28, 29, 30 and January 4.

3 – is it possible to move on red days?

11 – Who lives in a small town can meet with relatives in nearby towns?
Transfers are allowed from municipalities with a population of no more than 5,000 inhabitants on December 28, 29, 30 and January 4. It is possible to travel a distance that does not exceed 30 kilometers from the respective municipalities. But it is forbidden to go to the provincial capital.
